Alibag!!!
One of the most beautiful places in India. It is a beloved place of Tourists because of convenient travel options like by road and by sea. (Mandwa port is only 12 KM from Gateway of India by sea) Alibag is famous for Beaches and known as Mini Goa, It is famous for Historical Forts and temples. But not only limited to forts and temples and is also for its rich Cultural & Traditional Events. Fairs (Jatra/Yatra) are the main attractions of Alibag. There are around 4-5 Fairs organised in Alibag and its nearby Villages. Every Fair has its own rich traditional importance. Fairs are organised from month of November to January time frame every year without break. The Season start from Nageshwar Yatra organized in Awas village which is about 20Km away from Alibag main City. It is only one day Fair, but you can enjoy lots of Games, Variety of Food and cultural shows as well. One of the largest fairs in area is at Varsoli Village around 1.5 Km away from Alibag main city and it is five days non stop fun, full of adventure and thrill. You can enjoy lots of games huge giant wheels and lots more. In this Fair most favourite things are Sugar Cane Juice, Suttar Feni(Type of Local Sweet) and Garamagaram Pakode!! Every day thousands of people visits fair. This Fair is organized near the Temple of Lord Vitthal & Rukhmini. Another attractive fair is at Chaul village and is Lord Datta and known as Dattachi Yatra. Chaul has rich historical references and was very famous in history and is one of the Beautiful places in Alibag Taluka. It is around 18 Km away from Alibag. Many people visit this fair without fail every year. Other than Fairs few more important cultural events celebrated in Alibag are Ganapati, Narali Pornima and Holi.
